  1. why are setup on the board differently in this tournament?

  2. It is an agreement between all of the participants.
    It’s called Chess960 or FischerRandom chess.
    A computer scrambles the back row – equal with both
    players – and then they begin. The idea is to avoid
    opening preparation and current “theory”.

    A better way to scramble (personal opinion) is Bronstein
    Shuffle Chess or Pre Chess where a computer doesn’t have
    anything to do with it. You might do a search on our
    website for Bronstein / Pre Chess / and get an idea as to
    what it is about.
