London Chess Classic – 2015

This year the main event will be a 9-round 10-player super tournament that climaxes the 2015 Grand Chess Tour.

The Grand Chess Tour was founded as a partnership between the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis which stages the Sinquefield Cup, Tower AS who organize Norway Chess 2015 and Chess Promotions Ltd, the rights owners of the London Chess Classic.

Nine players compete in all three Grand Chess Tour events: Magnus Carlsen, Fabiano Caruana, Hikaru Nakamura, Veselin Topalov, Alexander Grischuk, Vishy Anand, Anish Giri, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave and Levon Aronian. The London Chess Classic organizers have nominated Michael Adams as the tenth player. This will mean that the LCC will be the strongest event ever held in the UK.
