Kasparov-Karpov  {7} 1990

The 1990 World Chess Championship  match between World Champion Garry Kasparov and {Challenger} [#12 WC] Anatoly Karpov was held October 8 to December 30. The match location was split, the first 12 games were played in New York, USA and the last 12 were played in Lyons, France.

GAME 7……

No surprise Karpov played d4 ..No surprise Kasparov played the King’s Indian Defense

Up to this point games 1, 3, and 5 were drawn playing this opening Karpov is down a full point .. [He lost Game 2] Game 7 was a big win  .. for the next full point in the match wouldn’t come until 9 games later Game 16 which lasted 102 moves going to Kasparov ,who eventually defends his title with a score of 12.5-11.5
