13 and Kasparov

 Born : April 13 1963

Garry Kasparov became the youngest ever undisputed World Chess Champion in 1985 at age 22 by defeating then-champion Anatoly Karpov.

He was the 13th Champion and held the official FIDE world title until 1993.

Kasparov’s peak rating was 2851.  It was the highest recorded rating until being surpassed by Magnus Carlsen in … 2013 .

After 48 games had been played in the Karpov – Kasparov World Championship Match (1984), FIDE president Florencio Campomanes canceled the event while it was still in progress.  Stating  that the match had “exhausted the physical, if not the psychological resources, of not only the participants but all those connected with the match.” The Score was  5-3 in favor of Anatoly Karpov.
