Gibraltar Backgammon Championship February 11-14 2016, Caleta Hotel, Gibraltar
The tournament is played as a qualifying round where all play 6-7 Matches to 11 point depending on number of players. If players win at least 4-5 matches they qualify for the main round which is played as a cup tournament. All players who did not win 4-5 matches plays in the consolation. There are no last chance.
Players winning the most matches in qualifying rounds will be the first to get a bye if any.
Qualifying rounds are played on Thursday-Friday.
Main is played Saturday and semi and final on Sunday.
New Unique format: All players will play 6 or 7 rounds swiss system (depending on the number of players) and all players who lose no more that 2 matches makes the cut to the main tournaments. All others play in the consolation.
